Where

First Congregational UCC

When

January 11 • 3–5 PM

Following the event, BLAI will hold a candlelight vigil to honor Renee Good, who was killed by ICE in Minneapolis. This will be a quiet moment to grieve, bear witness, and stand together in care and solidarity.

In the dark of winter, it matters to gather.

Join us for music, a cash bar, small bites, and a powerful visual showcase from rallies organized by Brainerd Lakes Area Indivisible throughout 2025. The work on the walls captures something many of us know deeply—the strength it takes to show up, and the quiet comfort of realizing we’re not alone. These images hold courage, connection, and the community at the heart of our democracy.

This afternoon is a warm, grounding space to slow down, look closely, and reconnect. You’ll hear from local photographer John Erickson about his artistic process and what it meant to witness and document these moments. There will also be time to reflect, share thoughts, and connect with neighbors who care about building something stronger together.

Founded in late March 2025, Brainerd Lakes Area Indivisible has been showing up for education, mutual aid, and local democracy. This event is also a fundraiser, and your donations help sustain and grow this work into 2026. If you’re able, we invite you to contribute.

Come for the light in the dark.
Come for the community.
Come because courage grows when we gather.
