Democracy is Worth Defending

About this event

On Tuesday, February 17th at 11:00 AM, BLA Indivisible and six other grassroots partners will gather on the sidewalk outside the Crow Wing County Courthouse for a peaceful, love-led protest outside the Crow Wing County Courthouse in Brainerd — and we hope you’ll stand with us.

Representative Pete Stauber will meet there with local officials from 12–1 PM, and we’ll be there to remind him as he arrives:

Democracy is worth defending.
The Boundary Waters are worth protecting.
Healthcare is a human right.
No one should live in fear of our government.

We’re proud to co-sign this message because it reflects the world we believe in — one rooted in care, equity, justice, and accountability.

🌱 What We’re Standing For:

→ Clean water and a healthy planet — not risky mining in the Boundary Waters.
→ Healthcare for all — not repealing the Affordable Care Act.
→ Safe, trusting communities — not local law enforcement acting as ICE enforcers or funding DHS.
→ Free and fair elections — not political intimidation through voter data demands.

This will be a nonviolent, love-centered demonstration grounded in the belief that real change begins with courage, community, and unwavering moral clarity.

We know anger is justified. But our power lies in how we act, and the words we choose — together, with love as our guide.

For love is the fiercest form of resistance.
